Ikigai is a Japanese concept referring to something that gives a person a sense of purpose, a reason for living. It is the combination of Japanese characters IKI, meaning life and GAI, meaning the realization of hope and expectations.
The concept of Ikigai encompasses wellbeing, life satisfaction, the joy from doing something and a sense of purpose. It's about feeling that your life is valuable and that you have an impact.
